Cofie in outstanding Man United form

Ghana-born striker John Cofie is in outstanding form for Manchester United so far this season.

Cofie, who is born to Ghanaian parents, struck in United's 2-2 draw with City U18 over the weekend.

It was the striker's eighth goal this season at all levels and his fifth in six games for the Academy side.

The former Burnley trainee was singled out as one to watch by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson last season.

England have temporarily won the race to make John Cofie - a wonder-kid at Sir Alex Ferguson's Man United - one of their own despite a fight with Ghana and Germany.

The attacker, 16, opted for England despite having the options of playing for Ghana and Germany.

He made his Under-16s debut against Germany last year but still has the opportunity to switch international allegiance to play for Ghana if he doesn't play for the England senior team.

The former Burnley junior has been publicly tipped for big things by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
