Ghana club owners set to storm Wembley for England friendly

Several club owners in Ghana will form part of the country’s delegation for the historic friendly against England this month.

The Ghana FA (GFA) will send executives from every club in the top two tiers of the country’s game to Wembley on 29 March.

The game is the first clash between the two sides at senior level.

With about 1,000 football-related businessmen, European clubs as well as agents expected to attend the match, the GFA told Radio Gold it wants to give club owners the opportunity to network.

“Somebody may through this trip strike a partnership that will further his football and business,” GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

“It is also an opportunity for them to interact with the football association in England.”

“We see this as a capacity building opportunity for our club executives.”

Ghana have played England at junior level but the clash at Wembley is the first between their senior sides.
