Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac pondering new call-ups to replace injured Partey and Mensah

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has a decision to make on replacing injured Thomas Partey and Gideon Mensah following a last minute setback.

Thomas Partey missed Arsenal's 1-0 win against Watford on Sunday with a muscle injury while Mensah lasted 45 minutes of Bordeaux's clash with Paris Saint Germain.

Although, the Serbian trainer named a 28-man squad for the games against Ethiopia and South Africa, he has been handicapped by the injury to the pair.

He is expected to make a decision before the game against Ethiopia on November 11, 2021.

The Black Stars will then play South Africa three days later with top spot and a place in the play-offs in sight.

Partey play a key role in the games against Zimbabwe, scoring in both legs as the Black Stars kept their World Cup hopes alive.

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is however unsure of the extent of Partey's injury.

"Let’s see what happens with Thomas. He wasn’t available to play today. He’s got a muscle injury, and we don’t know how it’s going to evolve, so let’s take it day by day," he said after the victory over Watford.
