Ghana Football Association has denied mismanaging US$6m after an audit report demanded an explanation on the amount spent.
The GFA has been accused of failing to provide receipts to authenticate total payments of US$654, 779 and GH 8,050,361 for goods and services procured.
Citi FM News claims it has cited the report and exposes lapses in internal controls over cash management, improper management of assets, unaccounted impress, payments without receipts, among other things.
For instance, the disbursement of $349,100 to 31 individuals including FA Vice President, Fred Pappoe, PRO Randy Abbey and Black Stars Coach, Milovan Rajevac were not acknowledged by FA accounts.
The accounts which covers the period between 1st July, 2007 and 30th June was done in fulfillment of Article 37.1 of the GFA statues.
The Report is due to be laid before the GFA Congress on 20th August, 2010.
In a related development, the President of the Ghana Football Association, in an interview with Citi News debunked the assessment that his oufit has mismanaged the said amount of money.
According to Kwesi Nyantakyi, the report has not indicted any official of the GFA but rather it is a letter that is raising queries as to how monies belonging to the FA were utilised.
He says, the FA was originally given thirty days by the Auditor General's department to respond to the queries; something Mr. Nyantakyi says his outfit has sufficiently done.
