The Ghana Football Association and the FA Cup Committee have urged Medeama Sporting Club to fight hard and secure a good result against Al Ittihad Tripoli in their CAF Confederation Cup first leg tie in Tunis on Sunday

A goodwill message signed by the chairman of FACC, Kurt E. S. Okraku, reminded Medeama to draw inspiration from their impressive African debut two years ago to ensure a good away result on Sunday.

"Though you will be playing away, we have confidence in you as the proud winners of two MTN FA Cup competitions in 2013 and 2015 that you will make yourself and the nation proud in Tunis on Sunday."

"We also believe that the experience gained from your first continental campaign in the same competition two years ago would inspire you to excel against the Libyans this time round," he noted.

Stressing on the quality of Medeama, the message charged the Tarkwa-based club to take advantage of the neutral venue for the match to record an important away win to ease the pressure on them in the return leg.

As usual, the headline sponsor of the FA Cup, MTN, is supporting Medeama's African  campaign with GhC60, 000, while the club's main sponsor, Gold Fields Ghana Limited, is the chief financier of the trip.

Medeama are due to leave for Tunisia tonight ahead of Sunday's game which has been shifted from Libya by CAF due to the political unrest in that country.
