Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan reportedly earned a whooping £3million for a goal scored for Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG.

According to English portal, the Daily Star, the legendary Ghanaian footballer received £23.6million for the eight goals he scored in 26 matches for Shanghai SIPG.

Gyan joined the Chinese side after three successful seasons with Al Ain for an amount of £8million.

The Ghana international who was in the form of his life before moving to China signed a deal which saw him receive money for goals scored.

The ex-Sunderland player did not enjoy life in the Asia country and had to force a loan move in his second year.

He eventually left after two seasons to join Turkish side Kayserispor in 2017 but injuries affected the forward's return to Europe.

Gyan (36)  last played for Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities and has promised to return to action in January.
