Ghana make contact with Man Utd fullback Tim Fosu-Mensah

The Steller Group, who look after Timothy Fosu-Mensah, have confirmed that the Ghanaian senior national team are pursuing their client, who plays for Manchester United.

The Dutch teen has impressed since breaking into Louis van Gaal's first team and was again outstanding for the FA Cup win at West Ham.

Fosu-Mensah, a former Ajax junior, qualifies for Ghana and their FA has been in contact.

The young defender's excellent performances for Manchester United in recent weeks has sparked a tug of war between the Netherlands and Ghana.

Fosu Mensah, who was born in Amsterdam but from Ghanaian parents, has represented Netherlands up to U19 level, but can still opt to switch his allegiances to Ghana.

"We have been called, Ghana is indeed trying to persuade him to choose that country," said a spokesman for Fosu-Mensah's management team, Stellar Group.

The teen is expected to keep his place for their clash with Aston Villa.
