Elmina Sharks General Manager George Wiredu has debunked reports in the media indicating that players of the team boycotted training on Monday in protest of outstanding salaries.

Report went rife in the media that players of Elmina Sharks failed to turn up for training to demand their unpaid bonuses and wages ahead of the start of the new season.

The protest was reported to be led by the senior players in the team.

However the General Manager George Wiredu in an interview with the media has come out to rubbish those reports stating, the club does not train on Mondays and players are ready ahead of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

"Rubbish such a story, we don't train on Monday's. The players are well preparing for the upcoming season" Wiredu told OTEC FM

Elmina Sharks will begin their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League campaign against Ebusua Dwarfs in a regional derby to be held at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

The Ghana Premier League commences on 13 November 2020.
