Ghana Premier League sides congratulate Hearts of Oak on 109th anniversary

Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak turn 109th today and have been joined by rival clubs for the celebration.

A host of clubs sent well wishes to the Phobians on social media including arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.

The former African champions are celebrating their 109th anniversary with a line up of activities, which begins today at the club's secretariat.

The 20 times Ghana Premier League champions are preparing for the upcoming campaign which kicks starts with a trip to Dormaa to play Aduana Stars. Hearts will be hoping to secure a win to mark the beginning of a new year.

Hearts of Oak are one time Africa Champions, winning the coveted CAF Champions League in the year 2000.

The Rainbow club were the first club to win the first CAF Confederation Cup after beating nemesis Asante Kotoko to the trophy in 2004.

The capital-based club are 10 times FA Cup champions, the record holder of the title.
