Ghana Premier League teams interested in only developing and selling players should venture into academies- Wilson Arthur
Wilson Arthur's FA Cup Committee is under siege

President for Division One side Sky Power FC, Wilson Arthur says Premier League clubs that have the module of developing and selling players should venture into academies and not compete in the elite division.

According to the MTN FA Cup Chairman, most Ghanaian clubs are now focused on developing and selling players in order to generate revenue for the club which has affected the standard and competitiveness of the Ghana Premier League.

“If you want to breed players and sell them go and build an academy instead; don’t play in the Premier League. Clubs are always looking for an avenue to sell players and that is what has led to our league not been competitive”, he told Happy FM.

“Most clubs, their module is to develop players and sell them. So they don’t invest in building a squad to win trophies. If you want to run a club you shouldn’t look at selling players very quickly.

He also proposed that if the media starts to hype players in the Ghana Premier League it will attract fans to the stadium.

“If we start hyping our local players and then stay for long they can become stars and we can get the stadium full which will bring in sponsors”.
