Ghana President John Evans  Atta Mills on Saturday expressed the hope that the senior national team, the Black Stars will win the upcoming World Cup in South Africa.

Speaking at a luncheon he organized at Osu Castle, the seat of government in Accra for the players, he said God is on the side of the Black Stars to win the covetous trophy for Africa for the first time.

He therefore advised the players to be disciplined and obedient to their technical handlers so that they lift the flag of Ghana high in South Africa.

President Mills asked the players not to see themselves as professional players who are experts in the game but rather they should take every instruction that their handlers command them to do.

The Ghanaian leader said juicy packages await the players when they are able to lift the cup in South Africa.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars are expected to leave Accra for Paris on Sunday where they will play a number of friendly matches before leaving for Pretoria, South Africa where they will base for the tournament.
