Ghana President, Nana Akufo-Addo, has praised Jordan Ayew for his impressive performance in the English Premier League, where he has been the most fouled player this season.
Ayew, who plays for Crystal Palace, has won 65 fouls in the ongoing campaign, demonstrating his skill and physicality on the pitch.
During a farewell dinner on Tuesday night, President Akufo-Addo lauded Ayew for his accomplishment, stating, "It is insightful to note that Jordan Ayew of Crystal Palace is the most fouled player in the English Premier League."
Ayew has also been instrumental in helping the Black Stars prepare for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. With two Premier League goals and five assists in 19 matches, he is currently one of the team's top performers.
Ghana will face Cape Verde in their opening match on Sunday, January 14, 2024, before taking on Egypt and Mozambique on January 18 and 22, respectively, in Group B.
As the Black Stars look to end their over four decades of drought without the coveted trophy, Ayew's talent and experience will undoubtedly play a crucial role in their quest for victory.
