Ghana ready to douse Zambia fire in Nations Cup semis clash

Goran Stevanovic insists Ghana is ready to battle Zambia in the Nations Cup semi final on Wednesday despite its day disadvantage.

The Black Stars endured 120 minutes of grueling football in their 2-1 win over Tunisia in the previous round on Sunday and had to travel the following day to Bata for the semi final tie.

The team thus will have only one training session ahead of the crunch match against the Chipoloplo who have had a day more to prepare after their impressive 3-0 win over Sudan in the quarters.

But Ghana’s Serbian trainer refuses to moan over his day’s loss and is rather looking to get on with things.

"Okay, it’s normal. We accept that we have limited time to prepare for the game,"  he said.

"Our opponents have had one more day to rest and we played 120 minutes in a very tough game against Tunisia and all this is part of the game."

"Most important is our moral personality and we have all this and I am sure we would be ready for tomorrow’s game.

The two sides meet at the Estadio de Bata on Wednesday to fight for a place in Sunday's final where Cote d'Ivoire or Mali awaits.
