Inaki Williams overcame an injury problem to start Athletic Bilbao's league game against Espanyol on Sunday, extending his impressive Spanish La Liga record in the process.
The Ghana striker was substituted in the club's previous game against Cadiz due to an ankle injury, prompting speculation that his record of consecutive starts in the Spanish league may be over.
But against all odds, the 28-year-old extended his record by making 237 consecutive appearances after being named to Ernesto Valverde's starting lineup against Espanyol.
Inaki played 71 minutes of the home game before being substituted as Bilbao fell to a 1-0 defeat.
After four games, the Basque side are in sixth place, five points behind league leaders Real Madrid, who have 12 points.
Willams switched to represent Ghana after previously choosing to represent Spain.
He is available for Ghana's two pre-World Cup friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua this month.
