Ghana striker Abdul-Majeed Waris has been nominated for the best African Player award in the French top-flight league this season.
The talented attacker was named for the annual Marc-Vivien Foe award following his highly impressive form with Ligue 1 side Lorient.
The Ghana international is among 11 players shortlisted for the individual accolade.
Waris must fend off competition from several top players to make the final shortlist expected to be announced in the coming days.
Since 2009, the Marc-Vivien Foe prize has been awarded to the best African player playing in the Ligue 1.
This award was created by RFI and now presented jointly with France 24 reward one of 110 African players who plays in France.
As in previous editions, the jury will choose three names and assign five points in the first, three in the second and third point.
The player with the most points thus succeed André Ayew Ghanaian international who now plays in England.
