Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris is expected to make his Russian league debut when Spartak Moscow host Terek Grozny on Sunday.

The 21-year-old was a big name arrival from BK Hacken in January after grabbing the top scorer’s award in the Swedish top flight last season.

The Ghana international returned to full scale training with the side last week after picking a minor injury during the side's Scandinavian tour.

Spartak Moscow are hoping to profit from the goals of the Right to Dream Academy graduate to reignite their ambitions of qualifying for Europe next season.

The Red and Whites are a staggering 11-points adrift top-placed CSKA Moscow and will be looking for a springboard start to the second half of the season this weekend.

Waris has already gotten off the mark for Spartak after scoring three goals in two games in the friendly matches played ahead of the start of the second round of the Russian top flight.
