Chelsea have missed out on the signing of Nordsjælland star Mohammed Kudus after the midfielder agreed a five-year deal with Dutch powerhouse Ajax Amsterdam.
The Blues have been linked with a move for the teenage midfielder following an explosive form in the Danish Superliga.
However, the Ghana international has agreed a mammoth €9 million deal with the Eredivisie outfit.
It has been claimed Chelsea would make a formal approach to sign him this summer but that has been shattered after the youngster agreed a long-term contract with the four-time European champions.
Kudus is expected to put pen-to-paper on the deal for the upcoming season and the English giants will have to look elsewhere in search for a midfielder.
