Ghana will name a new permanent coach for its national team by the end of next month.
The Black Stars have been without a coach since Serbian Milovan Rajevac refused to extend his contract in September.
One hundred and twenty coaches have applied for the post currently being occupied by Akwasi Appiah on caretaker basis.
Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi says they will appoint a permanent coach by the end of next month.
“We are working assiduously to bring the best coach for the national team that’s why we have delayed in naming one,†Nyantakyi said.
“We have so far received applications for 120 coaches and we are currently doing due diligence on the names.
“We will surely name a coach by the end of the year to do the job.â€
Some world class coaches including ex-Sevilla and Tottenham boss Juande Ramos, Phil Scolari, Marcel Desailly and several top Serbian coaches have expressed interest in the job.
Rajevac took the inexperienced squad to the final of the African Cup of Nations in January.
Six months later he led the squad to the quarter final of the World Cup in South Africa.
He refused to renew his contract after delays from the Ghana government over approving his new salary and he opted for an offer from Saudi side Al Ahly.
