Ghana midfielder Nana Opoku Ampomah has been reinstated into the first team of Fortuna Dusseldorf after spending most of his time with the junior team.

The 26-year-old has struggled for game time with the first team, but with injuries to several senior squad members, the winger has been recalled by manager David Thioune.

The Fortuna Dusseldorf manager watched the club's most expensive player feature against Lippstadt 08 in the Regionalliga on Saturday. Nana Ampomah scored a brace as Fortuna Dusseldorf II defeated Lippstadt.

He was named on the bench for the defeat to Heidenheim.

But the winger is set for first team action when Fortuna Dusseldorf welcome Hansa Rostock on September 10, 2022.

Nana Opoku Ampomah joined the German Bundesliga II side in the summer of 2019, but after a season in the topflight he joined Royal Antwerp on loan. He is yet to make an appearance this season for the club.
