Ghanaian contingent with TP Mazembe depart to Japan for Club World Cup

CAF Champions League winners TP Mazembe have departed Lubumbashi for Japan for their FIFA club championship.

Influential winger Solomon Asante has recovered from the thigh injury he picked up while playing for Ghana in the game against Comoros last month.

Coach Patrice Carteron named influential figures Daniel Nii Adjei, Solomon Asante, Richard Kisi-Boateng and Yaw Frimpong were all named in the team for the championship.

Gladson Awako who picked up an injury during the CAF Champions league campaign has also recovered in time for the championship.

All five Ghanaian will be heavily involved in the tournament which will staged between 10th and 20th of this month in the Nagai Stadium in Osaka and the International Stadium of Yokohama.

The African champions will be doing battle with COMNEBOL Champions River Plates of Argentina, UEFA Champions Barcelona and Asian Champions Guangzhou Evergrande.

The other competitors are CONCACAF Champions America, Oceania Champions Aukland City and hosts Sanfricce Hiroshima of Japan.
