French born Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah is undecided on which career to pursue after football despite interest in punditry.

The 28-year old FC Nantes player admitted he is yet to think of a career after hanging his boots.

Appiah has three years left on his contract with the yellow canaries and by the time his deal with the Ligue I side ends he will be 32.

"I have always been told that you have to play as long as possible because when it stops, it's boring and it's complicated," he told France Bleu Loire Ocean.

"Some people tell me that it would be good if I became a coach, but for the moment I don't want to. I don't have a project, that's the problem. I don't know if it is one for that matter. But we will have to start thinking about it quietly because there is life after football.

He continued: "I don't know if what I'm going to say will please, but I like this job and there are some who do it well. But I'm afraid of losing my soccer soul by being a consultant, that is to say wanting to criticize too easily and forgetting that I was a soccer player

"Many players, including me, say that some consultants forgot they were players. If I have to do this, why not. But I don't want to forget what it is to be a footballer, how difficult and restrictive it is," he concluded.
