Ghanaian forward Kwame Thomas suffers injury in season opener for Solihull against Eastleigh

English-born Ghanaian striker Kwame Thomas suffered head injury for Solihull in their 2-1 win over Eastleigh in the English National League on Saturday.

Solihull were dealt an early blow after Kwame Thomas was badly dazed in a challenge with Eastleigh towering defender Reda Johnson in the 12th minute of the match.

The 22-year-old walked off the field after treatment, making way for substitute Jermaine Hylton.

The Ghanaian's withdrawal weakened the attacking play of Solihull, and came close to losing the game after Paul McCallum gave the hosts a 77th minute lead from the spot kick.

But late goals from Adi Yussuf and Daniel Sweeney won the match for the visitors.
