Ghanaian youngster Najeed Yakubu shortlisted for Vorskla Poltava's MVP against Shaktar Donetsk

Ghanaian youngster Najeeb Yakubu has been shortlisted for Vorskla's Poltava's best player award in their game against Shaktar Donetsk in the Ukrainian top-flight on Sunday..

The 20-year-old played full time for Vorskla in their 2-0 defeat at home to Shakhtar on match-day 20.

Najeeb Yakubu has been pivotal for his side since joining them from Ghana’s second tier side New Town Youth.

Yakubu is battling three other teammates for Vorskla man-of-the-match award against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Goalkeeper Dmytro Ryznik has been nominated for the same award alongside central defender Artem Chelyadin who was a substitute against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Stalwart defender, Vladimir Chesnakov is named in the battle for the award with forward Olivier Thill completing the nomination.

The five players will be voted for by the clubs fans with the winner to be announced later in the month.

Vorskla are currently chasing a Europa League spot next season.

They lie 5th with 31 points from 20 matches played.
