Ghanaian midfielder Enoch Kofi Adu is racing against time to be fit for AIK Stockholm ahead of the start of the Swedish Cup after suffering an injury over the weekend.

Kofi was substituted in the 38th minute of the Yellow and Blacks pre-season 1-1 friendly draw against Russian side Rostov on Saturday.

The 29-year-old midfielder landed badly on the ground after jumping to win a header against a Rostov player.

He received treatment on the field but it appeared to have suffered a thigh injury.

The extent of the injury is not yet know but reports indicate that the former Club Brugge enforcer will be sidelined for a couple of weeks.

AIK will kick-start their Swedish Cup campaign against Jönköpings Södra IF on February 23.
