Ghana's sports minister fires Ghana FA warning, claims he understands football than members of the federation

Ghana's sports minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye is set for a massive showdown with the FA after claiming deep-seated knowledge of the running of the game than members of the federation.

The former broadcaster appears to have set a tone in motion to face the Ghana FA squarely due to his recent utterances.

The Member of Parliament for Odododiodio constituency has warned he will face members of the federation head-on if they fail to yield to his advise.

“I am one person who will not call the people at the GFA monsters. I know they are patriotic citizens who also want to contribute their quota. When I start my job, I know certain things that are not all that well at the GFA, so I will sit down with them in a friendly manner and thrash them out," he told Accra-based Happy FM

“However, if they insist on continuing with them then I would have no other option than to stamp on my authority, because I have been given the power to run sports in Ghana by Ghanaians, hence I would do what they want.

“My understanding of football is very high, even more than some of the GFA members."

Nii Lantey Vanderpuye replaces Dr Mustapha Ahmed.
