Great Olympics captain Gladson Awako has encouraged football heads to take grassroots football serious as it is key to the development in the country.
Awako wants to see more investment made in grassroots especially colts system which has produced avalanche of talents for Ghana.
"What we can do is to start from the grassroots.”
“Let’s start from the U12,U15 because myself I am part of the Ajax Academy system in Ghana way back with Mubarak Wakaso,Sadick Adams and a whole lot of players.”

According to the diminutive midfielder, abandoning juvenile/Colts football is the reason young and talented players have not mushroomed lately.
The juvenile/Colts football has been the talent hub for Ghana football since time immemorial but the project has suffered rejection lately.
The former Berekum Chelsea midfielder returned to domestic football after leaving United States club, Phoenix Rising where he played alongside local team mate,Solomon Asante.
Before joining Phoenix Rising, he alongside Solomon Asante had a stint with Congolese side, TP Mazembe in 2012.

Awako was part of the Ghana under 20 team that won the Africa Youth Championship in Rwanda and Africa’s first Youth World Cup in Egypt in 2009.
Gladson Awako 28-years has played in 7 Great Olympics matches and was adjudged player of the match in their 1-0 defeat to WAFA on match day 7 in Accra.
