Hasenhuttl happy to land Djenepo

Southampton head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl is confident that new signing Moussa Djenepo will prove to be a valuable addition to his Saints squad.

Twenty-year-old Mali international winger Djenepo has agreed a four-year deal at St Mary's, having come to their attention while playing in Belgium with Standard Liege.

He's an exciting player with tremendous pace and good finishing abilities.

And Hasenhuttl expects good things from the youngster, who he believes has plenty of potential to improve in the future.

He told his club's official website: "He's an exciting player with tremendous pace and good finishing abilities, who we have watched closely for some time.

"We have been impressed with how he has adapted to football in Europe and the impact he has had in games.

"He combines his quality with a good mentality and he is the right profile of player that we want to sign - still in the early part of his career, already with a lot of talent, but also with a great amount of potential that I believe we can help him to fulfil."

Hasenhuttl took charge at Southampton in early December and was instrumental in helping the Saints climb away from the threat of relegation from the Premier League, with the South Coast outfit eventually finishing in 16th place - five points clear of the drop zone.

The Saints are available at 2/7 to finish in the bottom half of the table again next season, while they are priced at 9/2 to be relegated.
