Ghana Premier League side Heart of Lions will not make any big-name signings ahead of the start of the 2011/2012 season in October, head coach Hans Van der Plyum has confirmed.

The Kpando-based side lack the funds to bring in well-known faces but have rather settled for untested players from the second-tier league.

However, Dutchman Plyum has defended the club's buying policy.

''We're not going to be involved in bringing big names to the club because there are equally players with huge potentials in the first and second divisions and that’s what we’re looking at," Plym said.

"The fact that you buy big top players does not guarantee league success and so we’re looking elsewhere."

Lions' top stars striker Gilbert Fiamenyo and midfielder Bright Nsiah have returned to the club after trials abroad.
