Hearts of Oak striker Mahatama Otoo is looking to resume his fine goalscoring form against Real tamale United on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old’s goalscoring run was halted in the 1-1 draw against rivals; Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

Otoo has been scoring consistently in recent games – firing him to the top of the goalscorer’s chart in the Ghanaian top flight with 13 goals.

But the Hearts captain failed to extend his season’s tally on Sunday as he was well marshaled by Rashid Sumaila and Kwabena Edusei in the Kotoko defence.

The yet-to-be-capped Ghana international however believes his failure to score against Kotoko is only a temporal blip as he looks to rediscover his scoring boots in midweek against relegated Real Tamale United.

“As a striker I would have loved to score in this kind of big games but it didn’t happen but that doesn’t mean it’s over,” Otoo said.

“I scored in other competitive games so I think I will have to look ahead and see what happens against RTU, if I get a couple of goals there it will be good for me.”

The Hearts captain is one goal ahead of closest contender; Yakubu M0hammed of AshantiGold in the race for the Goal King award in the Ghanaian top flight.
