Hearts to play ASEC in friendly

Hearts of Oak will take on Ivorian giants Asec Mimosas in an international club friendly on Saturday in Accra, the club have announced.

Both sides, former African champions, will use the game to be played at the Lizzy Sports Complex to test their battle readiness in their various competitions.

Hearts will assess newly signed players for the second half of the Ghana Premier League while Asec step up for their Caf Champions League campaign.

Former Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston is expected to make his official outing for the 'Phobians' after joining them in the transfer window.

Former Asante Kotoko striker Edward Affum, Abdul Ganiyu Yahaya should be available.

Kofi Abanga and Godwin Quarshiga who are both returning from a long-term injury lay-off are expected should be fielded.

Hearts are eyeing to wrest the top spot from rivals Asante Kotoko when the league resumes on 19 February.
