GHANASoccernet.com African Football Specialist Nuhu Adams has a detailed report on how Ghanaian players abroad fared this weekend in the qualifiers for the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup. 

There were no Ghanaian goals to report but many impressive performances.

CAF Champions League

Former Black Stars goalkeeper Daniel Agyei kept the posts for Jimma Aba Jifar FC when they lost 2-0 to giants Al Ahly SC.

Bismark Appiah also lasted the entire duration for the Ethiopian champions on Friday in Cairo.

Godfred Asante and Ocansey Mandela played all minutes for Horoya AC when they suffered a 3-0 humiliating defeat against Libyan side Al-Nasr SC on Friday.

Sebe Baffour played 71 minutes before being replaced by Brefo Mensah who lasted only seven minutes following an injury he picked and was substituted.

Sekou Keita replaced Mensah.

Central defender Richard Ocran enjoyed all minutes when Zambia's Nkana FC beat Simba SC 2-1 on Saturday.

Nicholas Gyan and James Kotei also starred for 90 minutes for the Tanzanian champions whilst Kwasi Asante was an unused substitute.

On Sunday in Lubumbashi, TP Mazembe pipped ZESCO United 1-0 and forward Rahim Osumanu came on as a substitute for the Zambians in the 56th minute when he replaced Enock Sabukama.

Nartey Polo sat on the bench as AS Otoho d'Oyo shared the spoils with FC Platinum on Zimbabwe in Congo on Sunday.

CAF Confederation Cup

DC Motema Pembe were held by FC San Pedro to a 1-1 scoreline on Saturday in DR Congo.

Emmanuel Asante lasted all minutes for the Motema Pembe whereas Nana Antwi Manu replaced Oussou Konan in the 75th minute for the Ivorian outfit.

Goalkeeper Nana Bonsu made sure his side did not concede when he manned the posts for Enugu Rangers to get 0-0 stalemate in Algeria on Saturday against USM Bel Abbes.

Anwar Sadat was an unused substitute when Al Hilal Elobeid drew 0-0 with Rwandan side Mukura Victory Sports in Sudan on Saturday.
