Former Ghana U-17 goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim says he felt stigmatized by Ghanaians over his age during the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India.

Danland than 14-years-old was Ghana’s first choice goalkeeper at the tournament.

Ghana lost to West African neighbors Mali in the quarter-finals following a howler committed by Danlad in the game.

The young goalkeeper was chastised after the game with his age being the subject of discussion.

According to Danlad,  he was affected by comments back home concerning his age and there wasn’t any psychologist in camp to help matters which really affected him at the tournament.

“I felt stigmatized when Ghanaians tagged me as over aged player in U-17 . It killed my soul because I was expecting other countries to pass such an uncomplementary remarks. That is my worst memory”, he revealed.
