Ghana midfielder Gladson Awako has promised to give his best after revealing the massive love showed him by Hearts of Oak fans.
Awako completed his transfer to the Ghanaian champions last month from Great Olympics. He is reported to have signed a two-year contract following an impressive 2020/21 season.
According to Awako, he was bombarded with messages by Hearts of Oak fans who urged him to join their club after the Phobians began talks to sign the midfielder.
“I swear I didn’t expect this. From my social media handles, everywhere they were on me – my inboxes, they came messaging me. They were so happy and that alone makes me feel so welcomed," he told Joy Sports.
"They kept asking me to change my profile. But I love that, I love the passion coming from the supporters as well."
"I believe things will be fine, with the way they want the best for the club, and we’ll also make sure that we’ll give them the best."
Awako scored seven goals and six assists in the Ghana Premier League as Olympics ended the season in an impressive sixth position.
