Liberty Professionals won a five-goal thriller against Karela United on Sunday to boost their Ghana Premier League survival hopes.
Evans Owusu scored the decisive goal as Liberty won the three points to move out of the relegation zone.
The Scientific Soccer lads knew they had to win and started the game strongly, resulting in the first goal scored by Abraham Wayo 12 minutes into the match.
However, lack of concentration at the back proved costly as Diawise Taylor restored parity in the 15th with his 17th goal of the season.
They regained their lead on after 25 minutes when Kwaku Karikari converted a spot-kick.
Liberty, this time, managed to hold and end the half with a 2-1 lead.
Karela improved in the second department, pushing for the equaliser. They got it in the 70th minute through Liberian Varney Sando.
But ix minutes later, Liberty scored the winner. Owusu got the goal from close range.
Liberty have climbed from relegation zone to 14th following the win.
