Dynamo Dresden defender Michael Akoto could feature in relegation playoff against Kaiserslautern tonight

Dynamo Dresden coach Guerino Capretti is confident defender Michael Akoto will play some part in his side's relegation playoff against Kaiserslautern despite fears about a suspected broken ankle.

The 24-year-old suffered the setback during the first leg tie which ended 0-0.

There have been concerns about the availability of the Ghanaian in Tuesday's crucial return leg at home.

And Dresden coach Guerino Capretti has been hesitant in confirming or otherwise if the former Mainz 05 II defender has suffered a broken ankle.

He remains optimistic about the Ghanaian featuring in the reverse fixture tonight.

"I'm confident about Michael. He took a hit. We're working on him recovering well and being fit for Tuesday," said Capretti late Monday afternoon at the press conference ahead of the second leg.

The contest is delicately poised following a goalless draw in the first leg on Friday.

His absence will be a big blow to Dynamo who will be hoping to avoid a drop.

The former Mainz II defender has made 31 appearances for the club this season and has scored one goal and one assists this season.

Dynamo Dresden will be hoping to avoid relegation to the third tier of German football.
