Ghanaian striker Joseph Painstil scored two goals for Genk but it was not enough as they crashed out of the Belgian Cup on Wednesday.

The defending champions lost to Club Brugge in the round of 16 with the latter progressing following a 5-3 penalty shootout victory.

Paintsil scored on the stroke of halftime and added the second after the 70 minutes to make it 3-1 for Genk.

But they let their guard down and Club Brugge equalised to force extra-time where neither team could score the winning goal.

Paintsil in the 77th minute so missed the penalty shootout which the away side scored all their kicks.

The former Tema Youth player has scored five goals in all competitions this season.
