Chelsea smash Norwich
Chelsea would welcome basement-dwelling Norwich City to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues headed into the game in fine form and were sat atop of the Premier League before kick-off.
Norwich, on the other hand, were dead bottom of the PL, without a win this season and in possession of the worst defensive record in the English top-flight.
So, though still impressive, not too many people batted an eyelid when Chelsea put seven past Norwich on the day to maintain their place at the summit of the Premier League and add a nice boost to their goal difference.
Tuchel provides Kante update
One player who did not feature for Chelsea vs Norwich, though, was N’Golo Kante.
The Frenchman would miss the tie with muscle tightness, but is expected to be back available for Chelsea’s next clash.
The Londoners are set to host Southampton on Tuesday evening in a League Cup clash and Kante should be fine to feature.
When speaking after the Norwich win, Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Kante is fully available for the Southampton game on Tuesday and then vs Newcastle at the weekend.
“It was simply one day too early. If the match would have been on Sunday he would have played. So he is fully available for Tuesday and for Newcastle.”
