Jadon Sancho is STILL an injury doubt for Borussia Dortmund's crucial clash with Bayern Munich

Jadon Sancho may not feature in Borussia Dortmund's top of the table clash with Bayern Munich, despite an impressive Wolfsburg cameo.

Sancho started Dortmund's return to action on the side-lines after the England star reportedly picked up a calf injury.

Despite coming on and earning his 16th assist of the season as he teed up Achraf Hakimi for the second goal in the 78th minute, Sancho only played 28 minutes.

According to Goal, Dortmund manager Lucien Favre disputed claims that Sancho was being rested for their top of the table clash against Bayern Munich and instead admitted that he might not play at all.

'He's only been training with the team for ten days. That is not much,' Favre said. 'I can't say for sure if he will play on Tuesday,' said Favre.

With Sancho potentially out of the squad for Tuesday, the club hope Mats Hummels will be fit enough to be involved.

Former Bayern centre-back Hummels, who has 70 caps for Germany, sustained an injury to his Achilles and went off for Emre Can during Dortmund's 2-0 victory at the Volkswagen Arena.

After the game, BVB sporting director Michael Zorc announced that the World Cup winner had long-standing issues with the tendon.

But insisted they are hopeful Hummels will feature against his former club Bayern, where he spent three years before returning to Dortmund.

Zorc said: 'I spoke briefly to the doctor. Mats has a complaint with his Achilles tendon. He has had this from training for a long time. But we hope that he can play again on Tuesday.'

While Favre added: 'I can't tell if he will play or not. I hope that he will be back on Tuesday.'
