Stade Rennes Ghanaian defender John Boye says he can apply the brakes on compatriots Kwadwo Asamoah and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu in tonight's Uefa Europa League.

The centre-back is part of the French side's set-up that will face Udinese at the Stadio Friuli.

Boye played an influential role in the 4-0 drubbing of Red Star Belgrade in August and says he will stop his international team mates if handed a starting role by coach Frédéric Antonetti.

"It is going to a tough game because Udinese is a very strong team. Agyemang-Badu and Kwadwo Asamoah have been performing creditably but I will stop them in defence if I am handed a starting role by the coach," Boye told GHANAsoccernet.com

Boye received a late call-up to the Ghana set-up for this month's double header against Swaziland and Brazil.
