Ghana defender John Paintsil says he is ready to stage a comeback to the Black Stars now that he is playing regularly for his club.

The experienced right-back has put himself back in the mix for a national team call up ahead of the World Cup with his move to South African club Santos.

The former Fulham defender has been a regular first team player for his club since making his debut late last year.

Paintsil now says he is in good shape to challenge once more again for a Black Stars call up.

“Now that I am playing very regularly for my club I don’t think I will have any problem returning to the national team,” he told Metro FM.

“I have always played my heart out for my country and now that I have proved my fitness I am sure I will no problems at all if I am given the opportunity.”

Paintsil remains one of the most experienced players in the Black Stars team having been consistent with the side for over a decade now.
