Ghanaian forward Jonah Osabutey was on target for Royal Excel Mouscron in their 3-1 loss against KAA Gent in the Belgian Jupilar Pro League on Saturday.

After dominating the opening period of the match, Laurent Depoitre put Gent ahead in the 9th minute with a fine finish.

But Mouscron came back strongly after the break to pull level through Jonah Osabutey in the 51st minute after connecting to Rafal Piertrzek’s low pass.

However, two goals in the 75th and 77th minute from Canada international Jonathan David ensured the hosts finish the match with a 3-1 victory.

Osabutey played 89 minutes for Mouscron while compatriot Elisha Owusu lasted 60 minutes for the victors, with Nana Akwesi Asare warming their bench.

Belgian-born of Ghanaian descent Vadis Ofoe-Odjidja registered an assist for Gent and enjoyed full throttle.

Osabutey meanwhile has scored 4 goals and tallied 3 assists in 18 league games for Mouscron since joining on loan from German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in the summer.
