Jonathan Mensah credits the defensive fluidity at Columbus Crew to complete team effort

Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah has spoken highly of the defensive solidity of Columbus Crew in the Major League Soccer this season. 

The Ghanaian who has been impressive this season together with compatriots Lalas Abubakar and Harrison Afful in the defense of the Gold and Blacks says there is been improvements in the current campaign.

Columbus Crew have conceded only 16 goals on the road and have the second best defense in the MLS this season.

According to Jonathan Mensah, the team works hard to prevent opponents from breaking the defensive shield.

"We just want to keep improving and score goals and allow few goals. And we going to keep working on our defensive shape and it's starts with the top guys because they are doing a great job this season and we have to keep it going," he told Columbus Crew's official website.

Columbus Crew will be involved in 3 games in 8 days starting with the match against Wayne Rooney's FC Dallas on the road.

The Ghana defender believes the run of games will need the best out of every player as Columbus Crew push for a play off spot.

"I think the coach said it earlier on, we going to need every one and training wise we all contributing and improving. Whoever steps in is going to do some good job so we have to be ready and so when ever you get the opportunity you go out there and help the team."
