Jovetic: Inter have surpassed expectations

Published on: 27 December 2015

Inter forward Stevan Jovetic has expressed his shock at how well the Nerazzurri have done this season considering the amount of change that occurred in the summer.

The Nerazzurri signed nine players during the summer transfer window, however, coach Roberto Mancini has managed to guide his squad to first place in Serie A.

“I did not expect we would be in this position, we signed so many new players, usually it takes time to integrate the group,” Jovetic said in an interview with Premium Sport.

“But we have done well immediately and now we believe we can win the Scudetto. We are first and we have a great team.

“My time at Manchester City? I don’t know why I didn’t play. I still love the fans there and I still have so many friends at the club.

“My relationship with Mauro Icardi? We will score a lot of goals. People talk so much and they always will, but I have no problems with him.

“We have an excellent relationship, we have only played 6-7 matches so we will improve as a pair even more. ”

The Montenegrin also talked about his regrets for this season and what he hopes to achieve in 2016 with Inter.

“Regrets? Being on the bench against Napoli, and hitting the post in that game, we deserved a point,” Jovetic added.

“Promises for 2016? I do not like to make them really, I just want do the best job I can but do I think we can win something important.”
