Jurgen Klopp claims Liverpool must be 'unpredictable' against Arsenal at the Emirates

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has urged his side to be 'unpredictable' when they face Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds will be hoping to get back to winning ways, following their 3-3 draw with Brighton last week, when they face Premier League leaders Arsenal at the Emirates.

And the German has sent out a rallying cry in his pre-match press conference, as he insisted his team must be ready to 'defend the s*** out of everybody we face'.

Speaking on Friday, Klopp said: 'We need consistency. For consistency, we have to defend the... rubbish, out of everybody. Let me say it like this. I'm not interested in this short-term diagnosis, 'that was good, that was bad'. No, we have to be good until we are outstanding.'

When pressed on using the word 'rubbish', Klopp responded: 'I wanted to say: 'We have to defend the s*** out of everybody we face', so that's why I used the word 'rubbish'. So, that's what we have to do and that's what we try.'

In recent weeks, Liverpool have come under criticism for their leaky back-line - having conceded first in a lot of their recent games.

Disappointing performances against Napoli and Brighton caused the Liverpool boss to change their system and formation for their Champions League clash with Rangers.

Klopp continued: 'It's much more important that we become unpredictable again and we need different systems.

'We don't want to make it more complicated but there are different systems. We have to choose which one is best with the next opponent.

The Reds will travel to the Emirates to face Arteta's Arsenal on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League grudge match.
