Juventus and Bayern Munich to duel for Manchester United defender

Juventus and Bayern Munich will reportedly attempt to pry Italian full-back Matteo Darmian away from Manchester United.

The AC Milan youth product began the season brightly for United but injuries and a drop in form has caused the 26-year-old to lose his spot in the starting 11.

According to Sport Bild, both Bianconeri coach Massimiliano Allegri and future Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti are keen on the former Torino star which could result in a bidding war between the two clubs at the end of the season.

In order to prevent an inflation of price, Juve may be tempted to make a bid during the winter transfer window.

Darmian can play on either flank but The Old Lay already boast a plethora of capable full-backs which likely means that at least one would need to be offloaded in order for talks to progress.

The Italian joined the Red Devils in July on a four-year contract with the option to extend the deal by another year, with Torino receiving approximately €17 million for the transaction.
