K.P Boateng surprised by Jerome's exclusion from Germany squad for Euro 2020

Ghanaian forward Kevin Prince Boateng has expressed shock at the omission of his brother Jerome from the Germany team for EURO 2020.

Manager Joakim Low excluded the former Bayern Munich player from his squad despite completing a successful campaign with the Bavarians.

Boateng who is about to work with ARD as a pundit for EURO 2020 shared his opinion with the BILD over Jerome's absence.

"He must have thought something, but of course it is very surprising as Jérôme was the most consistent central defender of the whole season - and for me also the best. Maybe Löw trusts the others more. We'll see if it was really a mistake if things don't go as the national coach imagined."

Meanwhile, the German-born is not confident of the European giants' chances of success this summer.

“Difficult to say. One problem is certainly the whole back and forth with Löw. There are two options: the team may have drawn strength from it - or it may be insecure. I also experienced that with Frankfurt, when it was certain that Niko Kovac would leave. That was a real earthquake in our cabin. It's not always easy to cope with something like that. But for me, the Germans will always be a favorite. Right now because they're written off a bit. Germany is Germany, you always have to have respect. We'll see how ready they are in the first game against France," said Boateng.
