Kane is the best striker in the Premier League - Tottenham boss Pochettino

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino believes Harry Kane is the Premier League's best striker.

The 22-year-old took his season tally in the league to 21 goals with a brace inside 16 minutes against Bournemouth on Sunday, equalling last season's tally with seven matches remaining.

When asked if Kane was the best in the competition, Pochettino suggested that if the England international is not the outright best, he is certainly up there with the most dangerous players in England's top flight.

"Is he the best striker in the Premier League? For me, yes. Maybe it's difficult to say he's the best, but he's one of the best," Pochettino said.

"He's one of the best strikers of a ball and his performance was fantastic today. It was a really good game for him."

Kane's brace helped second-placed Spurs to a 3-0 win over the Cherries and took him two goals clear at the top pf the Premier League Golden Boot race, ahead of Leicester City's Jamie Vardy, and three clear of Everton ace Romelu Lukaku.
