Kevin-Prince Boateng suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder in AC Milan’s 2-2 draw with Lazio in the opening game of the 2011/2012 Serie-A season on Friday.

The 24-year-old clearly in pain after the injury early in the second half.

He was however kept on for a further 20 minutes before being substituted by Alexandre Pato.

The Ghana international before his injury was as usual at his effective best for the Rosseneri but was denied several opportunities to get on the scoresheet by the impressive Lazio goalie, Bizarri.

Further tests will be conducted on Saturday to determine the severity of the injury but Boateng is very much likely to miss Milan’s opening Champions League clash with Barcelona on Tuesday.

Milan cannot afford to lose yet another midfielder after seeing Genaro Gattuso go off in the 18th minute after picking up a groin injury.

The Champions who started their campaign in front of their preferred San Siro crowd had to fight from a 2-goal deficit to draw parity with the capital-based club with strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Cassano getting the much needed goals.
