Liverpool striker Sadio Mane donates €45k to Senegal to fight coronavirus

Liverpool star Sadio Mane has donated £41,000 to help fight coronavirus in Senegal, demonstrating that he is one of the classiest African footballers.

The 27-year-old winger has reached out to the government of his country to donate the money to help in their efforts to fight the deadly disease.

With 27 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Senegal and two of those people recovering fully from the disease, the Liverpool wants to help the rest to recover.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year has been one of the standout players in world football this season with 18 goals and 12 assists for the rampant Reds.

But with their Premier League title charge put on hold – at least until April 4 but likely for longer – the Senegalese international is still delivering the goods.

Mane’s donation – equal to around 30 million CFA francs – is the latest in a string of selfless acts from the Reds No10.

The star – certainly one of football’s good guys – has built a school, hospital and funds local families with a monthly stipend.
