Premier League managers are siding with clubs in the battle over wages, with the majority ready to accept a temporary cut.
Talks between executives and managers over their salaries have been taking place at all 20 clubs over the past few days.
There is an acceptance of the need to make cuts within the 30 per cent limit recommended by the Premier League. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and West Ham's David Moyes are understood to be two bosses who have privately indicated a willingness to take a pay cut. Bournemouth's Eddie Howe and Brighton's Graham Potter went public with temporary reductions last week.
All 20 managers were involved in Saturday's tense conference call with the club captains, but only as observers because unlike playing staff there has been no attempt by the Premier League to enforce a collective agreement.
Managers' contracts are unique, so any changes to their terms is a private matter to be negotiated with employers.
The League Managers Association are providing advice and legal assistance to members in all four divisions, but unlike the Professional Footballers' Association, they are not engaging in the public debate.
